How to get people to trust you?

Hey guys,

I have been working tiredlesly on my Etsy Shop and trying to get people to notice my work. As you know, I was featured in the local newspaper last year, and recently I was featured on Oh So Beautiful Paper regarding my Indian Wedding Invitations.

But I keep running into the same thought: How do I get people to trust me and buy from me?

So, a few weeks back I decided to create a Facebook Ad for my Etsy store, or my website. I wasn’t necessarily clear on where people went, but I wanted to have more sales. That was my end goal: More Sales.

However I keep reading everywhere that you need to create a connection with your customers and make sure they trust you before they spend their money on your items - and I can clearly understand why.

Call me old fashion, but, as a shopper, I think twice before buying something online. It means I’ll have to pay up front, they have my card information, I have to wait who knows how long to have it delivered, and then I might have to return it because it doesn’t fit. There are a lot of factors that make me think before I click a “Buy” button.

If I was at a store I can try things on, make sure it fits, I pay for it after I’ve touched it and know I’m in love with the item, and to top it off, if there’s something wrong with the item, I can bring it back to the same place I bought it from. These, plus usually some sort of % off (if you’re a bargain shopper like me) are the benefits of shopping at a brick and mortar store.

So, how do we attract people into our store, make them trust us, follow us, and eventually buy our items?

Have you ran into this predicament? I would love to hear from people with stores (online or brick and mortar) and from everyone who buys online: what's YOUR deciding factor to buy?

Image above taken from here, where oddly enough, it says that people are more likely to buy online!

Wedding Location in NH

Hi lovelies,

If you are recently engaged and have been looking for that perfect location for your wedding here in New Hampshire, look no more! I've got the right place for you:

I am so happy to inform you all that Inkprint Letterpress has partnered with The Rocks Estate to be their resource for letterpress wedding invitations!

You know how much I love NH mountaints, located in Bethlehem, New hampshire, The Rock Estate offers an incredible array of packages with the most breathtaking views for out-door weddings and a gorgeous barn for your shabby chic dream!

"The Rocks Estate in Bethlehem, New Hampshire, is best known as a popular NH Christmas tree farm. But as the North Country Conservation & Education Center for the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests, the 1,400-acre property offers much more.

Beyond the neat rows of Christmas trees lined by perfect stone walls lies a world of history, wildlife, and experiential learning. The property is open to visitors year-round, presenting both structured and self-guided tours and programs. Choose a beautiful tree at Christmas time, discover the sweet process of creating maple syrup in early spring with our hands-on Maple Tours, enjoy the revival of vernal pools as the snow melts, the full bloom of summer, and the kaleidoscope of color in the fall"

Oh, and did I mention they will send you a package with all their info and a CD with photos you can look at for inspiration? I can't wait to get mine!

So, if you are still thinking where you could get that magical place... check them out! You'll fall in love with them as I did.

What is Letterpress

A lot of people have been asking me exactly what I do. Some people don't understand the process that goes behind it and why it costs what it costs. In the next few posts I will be talking about this... in the meantime, I wanted to show you a short clip of the Love Quote Print I made the other day.

My friend Ross, from Tuna Fish Discrepancy, was kind enough to shoot this video with his cellphone! Music is by him as well :-)

You can purchase this print at my Etsy Shop.

Enjoy!

On the Shop

Hey guys, Happy Monday! (More like booo, it's Monday)

I won't say what's on everyone's mind (You know... about the Pats), so I'll skip right onto something much happier: here are two new items for the shop!

This 5x7 print was hand set with the good ol' wood type from my Grandpa's collection. It looks neat, but it was a pain in the kaboodle! it's like a jigsaw puzzle to make sure they are all nice and tight for the print.

I absolutely love the texture that it creates on the paper. This is the real printing process, my friends! No laser jet here :-)

And if that wasn't enough and you wanted a bigger print for your loved one...

You can feast into this plump 8x10 print that says "Home is wherever I'm with you". Highly inspired by the song "Home" by Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zero. And if you have never heard it before, here it is...

Happy Monday!

Friday Finds

Hey guys... i hope you're ready for an AWESOME weekend!

Check out my new Ad over at All Things Paper Blog. I'm actually really happy with it - What do you think??

In other news: Do you remember my friend Sid Ceaser for CeaserPhotography? Yes, the one who took all my wonderful photos with Bertha and my studio! Well, he is having a photography exhibit at the NK Gallery in Boston, called Plastic Erotica. Here is a glimpse of what the show is about:

"Plastic Erotica is a new series of work by Sid Ceaser which explores the grace and sensuality of the female figure through the medium of plastic toys representing popular Japanese cartoons (Anime)." - NK Gallery

Why am I telling you this? Because I had the great honor to help him with his prints! which are now for sale on Etsy as well as at the gallery.

I actually didn't figure out that the photos were of plastic dolls until he told me. Then I REALLY went wild over them!

If you're in the Boston area today, you should definitely go. Check out the art exhibit and meet me at the NK Gallery, located at 450 Harrison Ave. #61, Boston, MA. The reception goes from 5-8pm. Hope you can make it!
